Telemedicine Visits

Pediatric care from anywhere in Alabama. Virtual visits for appropriate non-emergency concerns, ages 0–21.

Virtual Pediatric Care

KidsXpress Telemedicine gives children and young adults ages 0–21 across Alabama another way to connect with a pediatric-focused provider. When a virtual visit is appropriate, you can discuss your child's symptoms from home. Your provider determines the next steps, including whether an in-person examination, testing, or treatment is needed.

Concerns That May Be Appropriate for Virtual Care

  • Some mild cold symptoms or seasonal allergy concerns
  • Some minor rashes or skin concerns
  • Certain eye symptoms that can be discussed over video
  • Questions about recovery or next steps after care
  • Non-emergency health questions when a virtual assessment is appropriate

Benefits of Telemedicine

An appropriate virtual visit can reduce travel and let your child stay in a familiar place while you speak with a provider. Telemedicine complements in-person urgent care and your child's regular pediatrician. Treatment and any prescription decisions depend on the assessment; a prescription or complete virtual treatment is not guaranteed.

Before You Start

Confirm your specific insurance coverage and current virtual-visit payment information with KidsXpress before booking. Our general insurance list and in-person $150 flat rate do not guarantee coverage or pricing for telemedicine.

For a suspected medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for a virtual appointment.
